Over the past 30 years, I've made decisions and taken actions to align my situation with my long-term goals on a personal, professional, and financial basis. I believe this gives me credibility in guiding people to make the same alignment decisions in my role as a franchise advisor.
I had a great start in life. My parents did a super job teaching me about investing and GENERATIONAL WEALTH. My entire adult life, I’ve been in the stock market. My husband owns RENTAL PROPERTY, and he was a FRANCHISEE. Having MULTIPLE INCOME STREAMS and DIVERSIFIED ASSETS is what I grew up with and put in place with my husband and our family of two sons.
As for my career path, it didn't take me long in the FORTUNE 500 to decide it wasn’t for me. The LACK OF CONTROL was the problem. How much I made, who I worked with, what I worked on - all those limitations were too FRUSTRATING to me. And, the whole time I was there, I was worried about LAYOFFS. That FEAR was constant.
It was time for a CAREER PIVOT. As I reassessed what was important to me, I decided to get an MBA (Go Tarheels!) and serve on active duty in the Air Force. After several years, I transitioned back to civilian life and started my first BUSINESS.
The people I work with seem to relate to some aspect of my story. Whether they are CORPORATE REFUGEES, VETERANS, WORKING PARENTS, CAREER CHANGERS, INVESTORS, BUSINESS OWNERS, or EMPTY-NESTERS, I can say, “I’ve been where you’ve been.”
