Four years ago, the Augusta National Women’s Amateur began. It is held the week before the Masters at nearby Champions’ Retreat, a golf course of the
“Big 3,” Gary Player, Jack Nickalaus and Arnold Palmer.
The final round is played at the Augusta National on Saturday of the tournament. My eldest son won tickets in the lottery for it. Little brother accompanied him.
The Women’s Amateur had an exciting two hole playoff finish. Rose Zhang, a 19 year old Stanford college student, won with a fabulous putt on number 10.
Yesterday was the Drive, Chip and Putt competition for boys and girls in four age brackets between 7 and 15. It too is held at the Augusta National golf course . To me it was jaw dropping to see the skill displayed by these youth!
